I enjoyed reading your post! So much awesome info about the importance of blogging in affiliate marketing. I find it so useful in being able to connect with people and tell our story. I also chose to make my blog my primary traffic generating source, having ownership and control of it, but also haven’t chosen a second source. I’m dabbling in a few options to see what fits best. Having an “owned asset” or blog is one of the best things I did for my affiliate marketing business. I have control over it and like you said it is my own little corner of the internet. I have not had any of my social media accounts closed or lost, (which is scary in itself) but if that happens, I know I still have my blog. I will be interested in hearing which platform you chose for your secondary platform.

I believe it to be the core of any business. If you are operating solely on other people’s platforms to build a business, I think you are taking enormous risks for your livelihood, not to mention the time, money, and effort you put into these other platforms. It’s always good to have a backup that you own yourself.
